i know somebody probably posted this but i dont think alotta people have a 99. 3.0 liter and i saw some wierd ass intake on ebay for like 20 bucks..??? and its made for our "cl's" so i was wondering if i get some wierd shit like that in my car will it reduce my horsepower or actually help ?

 

You'll be fine. Just make sure you later down the line swap your filter for a K&N.
I DOUBT it'll reduce your horespower.

 

Unless it is restrictive, it will not hurt your HP. Do you know who the manufacturer is?

 

BOMZ are crap, but they're cheap crap. If you only want something for now, buy it and throw a K&N on it, but if you're buyin the short ram, be prepared for it to hum like a ufo. If I were u, I would save up and buy a real intake.

 

SO That's why my intake hums like that ...I also got a 12 Ebay CAI, and slapped a K&N on it. Does the trick though. When it hums...I just tap the throttle..and it clears up. I have been wondering what in the hell that noise was!!!!

im starting to think intakes are like Nike shoes vs. brooks shoes.. ... ipod vs. md players..
theres the hype and it is a lil better i guess.. but its mostly hype. they all get the job done.

The same thing happens to me. It sometimes gets annoying when I'm not going
WOT so I'm constantly gunning it.

When most intakes sell for $175+ i dont think i would buy the similar product that sells for $20, think about it, it probably cost them like $5 to make it if its selling for $20, not much research or engineering can go into a $5 product. Save your money and get an aem.
