I dunno, either way it's still under warranty, and I will just contact the dealer I bought it from and figure out what to do.

as far as I can tell it's riding the same as it always has, maybe a tiny bit rougher. I'm wondering if the cold weather affected it. I never drove the car while the temperature was lower than the -5C operating temp given by the instructions, but it has reached that temperature while the car was sitting at night. I'm gonna go readjust all the damper settings to the softest and see how it rides.

Leaking an blown are not the same.

Although it does appear to be leaking, so that should be covered under warranty.

I got them from Heeltoe Auto website, and thanks to MrHeeltoe's help here I just have to mail the shock in and they should send me a new one, so I should be good to go again in about a week.

Thanks MrHeeltoe!!

Yeap, looking to get me some D2's once I get my car running again. Def the only coilovers I'm looking to get...

And you chose your own spring rate, correct?

I actually just ordered them and got the "suggested" spring rate since I didn't specify, and I knew nothing about that, but just specify which one adn I'm sure you'll get that one.

only problem with this is that I work 5 days a week, and I don't want my car to be down for that long. I still have all the stock springs/shocks, and was wondering what kind of things I can do to keep the car driveable during the time I am waiting for a replacement.

I really don't want to spend 2+ hours removing the coilovers to put all teh stocker's back on.

Can I put the stock shocks on just the rear and just have a "super-rake" going on? or would that be a bad idea?

How long is the Tein special going to last and what's the difference between the Tein SS-P and the Tein SS?

on second though, I think I am going to just replace both the rears back to stock while I'm waiting and adjust the height on teh fronts up an inch or two to even it out since the fronts are easy to adjust height. Then I'll just get a corner balance after I get the replacement.

Cocoa, enlighten me on the D2's. What are some advantages, if any, that the D2's have over the Tein Type Flex Damper ?

meh, I've heard of tien shocks blowing out too, so it's not like it never happens with tien.

all products have at least some defective percentage, and since it's covered under warranty I'm not worried about it.

If you don't mind spending an extra $700 for the flex's, I say go for it.

I'm a poor college student, and I think for the price, the D2's are amazing.

leaking and blown go hand in hand.. if its leaking the static seal is eather rolled or has debris in it.. once all the compressable oil leaks out then its blown. thats when you get the floating ride, bouncy tire, camber wear, etc. its blown.
