bleeding the brakes
do i bleed the brake fluid on both rears, or can i just bleed through one side??? and how do i get the air out of the system?

Start at the caliper furthest from the master cylinder and work your way up. So it should be rear right, rear left, front right, front left. You need two people to do it unless you have a power bleeder.

just alittle urgent...reading rite now actually...thanks for the link....my real problem is that i have a leak around my left rear caliper...somewhere around the bolts where the lines meet.....can i just tighten the bolt so it stops leakin???

maybe....it depends. Inside that bolt that holds the line on the caliper are two washers, which are there to prevent leakage. If one of those two washers is messed up, you might have to replace the whole caliper.

if your pedal is mushy, then yes, bleed the system. If it feels you have to push the pedal really hard to stop, then yes, bleed the system.
The thing is, if fluid is getting out, it is possible that air is getting in.
Yes, bleed the system. Then top it off

you can get replacment washers just ask for the caliper (front or rear) banjo nut washers. and you can get them at autozone.. and anytime there is a leak you need to bleed the brakes. cause for every drop of fluid that comes out just as much air gets in. try to tighten the nut first. if its just loose then tighten it.. and bleed that caliper, and if you get air free fluid within the first 2 pumps, then you should be aiit and the others dont need to be bled.

you stop when you see that new brake fluid is coming out of the bleed valve. The plastic tube is there to prevent brake fluid going all over the place. It's definitely possible to bleed without it, but it's a good idea since brake fluid will eat through paint.
