Thumbs down blackhousing failure..

yesterday i was all pumped up cuz i was gonna do my black housings

..i knew it was gonna be a bitch to take the front bumper off since i never did it before. i spent about 2 hours trying to take that thing off but it just didn't want to lift off

i followed the DIY instructions but the little bastard just didn't want to come off, so i just bolted the bumper back on and left it.. ..i was thinking that it was a sign not to do it cuz it would look bad but i dont care i just want them done

so now i got spray cans sitting in my car waiting to go on but i can't do it cuz that damn bumper what do you guys think?

..oh and im ready for all the & smilies, so bring them on...

you can't take off the bumper? the only thing you need to really take off are the 4 bolts in the center area, one on each side. then take off the lame tiny fender ones and you're good to go

but... blackhousing on a primrose? IMO doens't go well, unless you have a CF hood or something, just my two cents

ahah. just messin man. i would probably have the same problem if i tried it. after you get all the bolts off, try pulling it a little to see if other bolts are still screwed in. dont pull to hard though.

When i did mine i had a problem with the right side. So i just went to the left side and started with one side at a time. You have to pull up and out and the same time. Just try one side at a time..>There are like 2 plugs on the bottom under the car. Make sure you take those out.

I dunno. If its real loose, it should just pop off...(your not gonna break your bumper.)
Make sure its not catching on your headlights causing you not being able to lift it up all the way

You see the black brackets on each side right under the headlight openings. Those have 1 stud a piece that stick out with a head on it...I just kept liftin mine up and down kind of fast till it came out..(temper took over)

No, the ones under your car you have to physically pop off. You use a smaller flathead screwdriver and pry the button out and the plug comes out

2 1/2 days, LMAO!........what the hell is wrong with you guys, it was a 15min project when I followed directions off our site my first time. The second time I did it without the instructions and wil admit the fucking thing would not come off. So I kicked it really hard twice and it came off finally. Just broke two clips but I dont give a shit. It still kinda hangs low, lol.

Btw, if you are certain you have all the bolts off, just apply a lot of pressure on the bumper and the side clips should come off properly. That was the issue I was having, but nothing like a fucking kick can't solve.

It's not lift and pull folks. After you got all the bolts, screws, and the bumper lights off, you have to push down on the bumper, kind of hit it downward your hand, then pull the sides out (the wheel well part of the bumper on each side) and the bumper should come off. Putting it back on though is a BITCH!
