Black is where it's at...
So I've been trying to decide on a way to change my upper grill for a few weeks now and I finally decided what I was going to do. I bought some flat black spray paint for abour $3 from the hardware store and painted the entire thing, including the chrome peice. Surprisingly, I didn't even have to sand the chrome down or anything, I just directly painted the whole thing, no problem. Anyway, let me know what you think, critism is more than welcome.

How do you smoke the clear corners out?
Can you still see the turn signals when they are operating?

i was first to ever do this in 1998... It wil last just fine as long as you used a good paint,... I used rustoleum, high heat, quick dry... But you made a big mistake... you gotta get that "A" painted too... it looks stupisd chrome w/out the chrome trim... sand and paint it..
oh btw.. expect to paint it 2x a year with water and chip ware and tear!!!

I Like it better now black. I like so many things about 98-99 CL's more than my 97...EXCEPT for the grill. I love my 97 grill. Im glad you painted your 98-99 grill. I dont like the vertical lines in it. Thats just me though I guess.
