the bike

Went and looked at a Katana 750 the other day, its a 99 in good shape with 10k on it, gonna get a really good deal $ wise, but i am wondering if any of you can tell me what this means;started it and not realizing it is not fuel injected i didnt fuck with the choke at first, and then when the guy adjusted the choke and started it it ran real rough so he started taching it up, and then it ran beautifully... could this mean it needs a tune up, or something bigger wrong with it? thanks for any help, need to know asap.

Yeah, it may need to be jetted again. Sometimes carbs will make the engine run sloppy right after a cold start.

How heavy are the '99 750's? I thought the older 750's were always the heaviest of the sport bikes since they didn't sell that well and weren't redesigned every year like the 600's and 900+ cc bikes.

If your saying wut I'm thinking, is if you started it than put the choke on and it started bogging down and than he revved it, than it was fine. That's ok that just means that it was getting drowned out by fuel and than it was fine after? if that's what your saying my bike does that even the day I got it off the showroom floor with 0 miles on it.
