best windshield wiper blade brands? or OEM?

what brand of windshield wiper blades do you guys use?

and how long do they last?

is it abnormal for wiper blades to last less than one year?
ever have constantly squeaky, loud blades?

just picked up a set of Bosch blades from pepboys....

or do you guys just stick with OEM blades?

Bosch. I think that's what already used as OEM. At least that's what my CL came with from the dealer. I bought my car back in March of 2001, it's June 2003 now and it's finally starting to separate from the spine.

Bosch is the OEM part. You could pay for the refills from the dealer or save some money and go to a local retailer.

I also seem to think that they last a lot shorter than they should. I think I replace mine at least once a year. I guess it also depends on how often it rains.

Does anyone here use Rain-x on their windshields? I just got some but haven't put it on yet.

I've had a bad experience with Rain-X. It works good if you do not plan on using your wipers. If you do use your wipers, the water smears across the windshield along with some oily residue. After that the Rain-X is hard to remove from the windshield. I don't recomend it.

Rain-X is all I use now, and it can be a PITA to remove. Really all you have to do is spray some water on the windshield after its applied and it comes right off.

I got mine at autobarn store or u can order from www.autobarn.com if you are not near one. I must warn you it is not cheap at all (21-25 each). But i swear, i used all of them and nutting compares to it. They give u a blade and this cloth with silcone on it etc (It in Japanese). I guess it is kinda like rain X, if I had to describe it. But they are a lot quieter than the BOSCH and sometimes it feels like it not even raining. But I only had them a couple of months, but so far so good, hopefully they last a year.

That sucks. Mine are still going strong. They not as good as they used to be, but I think you normally suppose to change it twice a year. Is ur windshield good? I know if u have lots of scratchs, hardwater, imperfections it wear out ur blades faster no matter what brand they are.

EDIT: I forgot, did u use the moist towel on ur windshield before hand, and also u can get ur money back if u not happy from piaa.

Yeah with rain x there can be a build up of layers and dirt. This is after couple of applications. I dunno if this is still true, but it makes u wipers not as effective. Yeah the piaas come with a towel with rain x like chemical in it to work with the wipers.

I use bosch blades. I'm not a big fan of rain-x either. It seems to only work at high speeds in moderate rain. Doesn't work if its raining really lightly, or when it rains really hard, or at slow speeds. I just use nice wipers, but i wish the CLs wipers moved a bit faster on the top setting.

every time i paid lots fo $$ for bosch one always skips accors the damn window. both on my cl and my truck. i had it with them. i wanted piaas but couldnt wait for shipping so i picke dup the rain-x cheap at walmart. they work perfect so far in all kinds of weather. only had them for 2 months. i will definitely get piaas at the first sign of problems with these.

I use carnuba wax on my windshield lasts a little longer then rain-x also a guy i talked to at a detail place said that the rain-x actually makes the wipers wear faster. Other then that i use napa wipers had mine for a year and they still work great although we hardly get rain here.
