get a used aem for around that, or get a short ram for around $120. Check out groupbuycenter.com- they always have decent prices

injen is the way to go, buy a short ram for about 100 and then later buy the extension but make sure you get the 97 accord one and you get the bypass valve from aem for it. injen is 3" so get the 3" bypass valve and youll be set

but there is nothing better than an injen and they can blow aem out of the water anyday

Why are you guys saying ingen is great? In almost every test I have seen on every application aem has made more power. Where are you guys getting these results?

Goldie: the ones from ebay are not smog legal and you will have to put your airbox back on whne you smog it, with the injen and aem intakes you dont need to remove them because they have a carb exept number on them so they are legal. as far as aem and injen, i have seen the results for both and i think the injen performs and sounds better on the cl and thats just personal preference

maybe in CA they are cracking down on all mod cars not here in MD. tube is tube it cant perform any different, you can only squeeze out 5 or so hp. It’s not like we talking about 50 . I do wanna change filter it self to K&N.
besides that this topic been chewed up million times CLstunner do a search!

My personal experience!!! The power is the same but the wind up and sound is better than the AEM... the bi-pass valve from AEM is a joke and a waste of $$$ and INJEN comes polished not color!
IMO that is!!!!

AEM is carb exempt, but injen isnt. that is what i found out when i bought a short ram for my friend's integra. if u wanna stay legal... AEM short ram... if u wanna get ur money's worth... injen short ram then injen cold air extension...

man you dont know what you are talking about. you must have the old injen intake. i have a new one almost a year old and i had the carb exept on the intake when i got it. i dont know where you got the idea that the injen are not carb legal but the ARE. you can call injen yourself and hy if you have the old one you can call them and ask them to send you a carb legal sticker for it i got a new one that they just mad and it looks better than the old sticker that they had on there. i got the idea froma guy that showed up to the D&B meet in the bay area he told me i could call them and get a new one and he was right. but vinniemack8 you need to get you stories straight and get you fact right and do you research. look at your post man, no offense but you need to read and search on here about intakes and do you homework before you start talking smack

here we go again ...another "internet arguement" There is a sayin "if u don't have anything nice to say don't say it". I mean I usually don't post when people are getting into it but hey i think its time. Im tired of reading posts when all the sudden there are somebody assuming another is talking shit and they reply with a smart ass remark. Vinniemack, i dont think 97acura30 was talking smack and 97acura30, please dont make it seem like you are all up in his ass for what he knows or what he is saying. Im just trying to end an "arguement" here before it starts. Im sure its a ll a misunderstanding like every other incidences. If we was to sit down with each other and have a beer than it would be all better. But of course we can't since this is the internet and ppl are far away so we have to just pretend and think things throughly before we replay with a comeback to a post that we THOUGHT was negatively directed to us.
So let me be the first to raise my glass and wish eveyone Happy Holidays...!!!!!

There was a poll on here, it still may be, and every one was saying they had AEM and it was the best. Now it seems from this post everyone is drifting to the Ingen side. I am confused.

For what I've seen they are both pretty much the same and they both use the same filter.
For my searches you can usually find Injen a little cheaper if a site sells both Injen & AEM.

No. Most shortrams I've heard have a wierd humming sound and are not as aggressive sounding @ wot.

i have the injen short ram and it humms, my buddys laugh at the sound and we call it the og hum but its cool cause you can hear me a block away outside and with the vafc thing and vtec engaging quicker and it sounds louder with a short ram rather a cold air but you get more hp with a cai but i love my shorty

If you have a V6, then a buddy of mine had a friend custom make 40 powder-coated, cold air intake with some bad-a$$ cone.

I was told that the cone's filament is the same ones used by muscle-car drag racers (supposedly pretty d@mn good!). The design was crafted after the AEM style intake.

$150... if you need, I can contact him to see if he still has any left...
