bazooka inclosed subs

Ok want to get more bass out of my 99 3.0 cl and i was thinking of getting one of those bazooka 8in inclosed subs.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-JCXxPT2...10&I=204BT8014

Has anyone installed one of these ??? and also would the stock amp affect the way i would have to wire subs.

those give moderate bass. you cannot hook that up to your stock bose amp.

Basic subwoofer installation requirements:
- Subwoofer
- Enclosure
- Amp
- Positive power cable
- Negative power cable
- RCA (R&L) cable
- Ground cable
- Fuse and fuse holder
- Aftermarket radio with RCA out

I was looking at one of those too. they dont use a lot of space, and you dont need to buy a box but the downside is that you dont get a lot of power. but at least you can buy a cheaper lower power amp for it.

you dont need a aftermarket head unit for subs, necessarily. byt not using an aftermarket head unit you have to purchase a small unit that splices with your rear speaker wires and converts them to two RCA's, about $25 at best buy, you'll have to ask the car audio deparment. they can also tell you how to hook it up, you splice it to both right and left rear speakers, it should have four wires coming out the unit, two + and two -. one + and - per rear speaker.

you will also need to tap a power source to act as a remote, any +12V source that turns on when you turn your car on. when i did this once, i spliced it to my clock, i think you may be able to splice it to your cigarette socket. that will trigger the amp to turn on when you turn on the car. that way your amp isnt on at all times.

good luck

all of the wires you'll need (except for power and ground obviously) should be at the factory amplifier on the pass. side/ rear corner of the trunk behind the jack.....i'll post colors for u later if u need em......or u can just do a search for them....oh, and yeah...no hate, but bazooka subs are complete garbage......so glad when our store stopped carrying them....just my 2 pennies

I would do a lot of research, and diy. It is really easy, but you need to know what sound you are going for. There is a lot of options for loud stuff out there, but not so much that sound the best. If you are looking to buy off ebay I would look at some used RE audio SX subs for goin loud with not much watts. If you want good SQ check out Image dynamics, Elemental designs, JL audio W6 series sound awesome (better than w7s...). Another good cheap option would be Alpine type Rs, the 12s are pretty cheap on e-bay, sound good, and get pretty loud. Kicker solobarics get pretty loud, but most think they sound bad. Just some opinions from me.

These here would be a good deal, probably get them for 180 or somethin too, can't do that at best buy.http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/ult...=091376#000000 Oh, if you get Type rs make sure they have the surround with the ridges, and not the foam one. They had trouble with the foam surround ones...But really these are some of the best bang for buck subs.

Kicker makes a pretty good enclosure. I dont think they are as bad as the bazooka's.

I've got one and I like it.

buy or make an enclosure for the drivers (subwoofers). most companies will have charts and dimensions on thier website to get the best performance. it will take time but this is what research paid for.

well, remember this forever. "there is always a right way and a wrong way." you'll always regret doing something sloppy and itll be ten times worst when you have to work on it again.

and now you know....and knowing is only half the battle.

Exactly... Why do the work twice...

When it comes to stereo equipment, the term "you get what you pay for" cant be any truer..
