bazooka(?)

does anyone out there have/have experience with one of those amplified bazooka tube subwoofers? i kinda want to add some bass to my system, but i don't want to add a whole box and all of that. is this a good (okay? bad?) option? would it work well with the factory (non-bose) stereo? thanks!

get something like the infinity bass link or a brand named high powered bazooka...they are good for what you want, nothing more

Get one of the Bazooka nitrous look alike tubes.

It's passive tho, so you will still need an amp.

They have a bunch of different ones too. It's kinda ricey, but you'd sure fool a bunch of lil ricer kids into thinking you had laughing gas. I say pull the stickers off and put the real NOS/NX/Zex bottle stickers on.

One looks like an NX bottle:

I didn't think of that either! Put one real one on one side, and the fake one on the other - put the Bazooka fake sticker on the nitrous bottle, claim they both are subs - hey, they's pretty good.

Why not just buy a 2 channel amp with high level inputs and some nice pioneer 6x9s from best buy, they will give u much better sound than a bass tube and just about as much bass

I know they can, but a good pair of amped 6x9 pound too, and when i say amped i mean each channel is putting RMS to each speaker in 4omh, now u dont have as much weight or trunk space tied up and you have the full spectrum of sound not just low freqs like from a sub/bass tube

I had two 6 1/2" Bazooka tubes (one with an amp, one slave) in my 1998 CL b/c I was in the same boat as you... didn't want to spend a lot of money and just wanted to add a little oomph to the system without losing any space. Worked out well and sounded good enough for me. Sorry I don't have any pics.... but you know what they look like... right?

Yeah Im not saying they wont sound good, I just think they are lazy, for the same money with a little good shopping and some though could get better sound and tight and light as possible

Dood, not gonna bash ya but there is no way you can get that kind of clean, tight bass from a pair of 6x9s, even running 100 watts rms into each one. You DO NOT want full range sound from the a speaker like that, esp when it's not in an enclosure. It's gotta compromise somewhere. Bass tubes are not lazy, they are a nice circle tube that eliminates standing waves. Older models gave them a bad name b/c they used small amps and crappy drivers. The new ones don't sound that bad tho. I just posted those bottles as a jest thol Before I bought any of those, I'd get one of the Infinity Basslinks. It will outpound all of them and sound much better.

You have some good points there, it really depends i guess on what you want more of though bass or quality, I have a rockford 500s in my oldsmobile right now wired to 2 polk gnx 12" which really isnt enough power for them but they have pounded so hard that all the shit rattles in my car even shit I have fixed, i cant really justify spending the $$$ dynomat and I actually dont like my bass over powering my mids and highs
