Lately (the past few months) my car has been dead when I started it. I have noticed that my yellow ABS light has turned on right before I shut it off and my lights get dim. Now I have subwoofers yet my 1 farad cap takes care of that. Today my battery light turned on for the first time. yet when I got home and shut my car off, and tried to restart the ignition, there was no problem yet the light turned on again, as well as the abs. Now here is my problem: why do these friggin lights keep turning on? Is it my altenator? because this battery is not even a year old until august. please help me!

 

I had the battery go on mine and never got the battery light.

I'd bet its the alternator.

It depends on if it's the Delphi or the Denso.

Had that problem just a while back, my alternator was fried. Replaced under warrenty on a 97, you get 5 years on the alternator

 

HEY YOU MAY HAVE A CAPACITOR BUT THEY DONT HELP AS MUCH AS YOU MAY THINK CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOUR AMP IS CUTTING OFF WHEN YOU CUT THE SWITCH OFF. THAT WILL KILL YOUR BATTERY BUT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR ALTERNATOR IS GONE AFTER I PUT MY SYSTEM IN LAST YEAR (WITH A 1.0 FARAD CAPACITOR) IT KILLED MY ALTERNATOR AT THE ACURA DEALER I PAID LIKE $450 FOR A NEW FACTORY ONE
