So today after it rained for a while i took my car out to get some shrimp tacos (those are good! )... i was waiting at a redlight and as i accelerated, the car shuddered like crazy, it did the same thing for two lights... i went home and did some searching and found out that it's the axles....

Anyone in socal/OC area knows a good place (that you went to) that will do axle job and how much did it cost for parts & labor???

 

Back at the shop where I worked at we sold axles for $49+ (depending on car) with exchange of your old ones.

What kind of shuddering?

After having Acura replace my axle for the second time, my car feels like it has a slight shudder once and a while. I wasn't sure if it was the cold weather and my new tires or hte replacement axle they gave me.

Side note: I have 2nd gen, does your car have TCS/VSA??? That could be a prime candidate if you do.


EDIT: I saw axles for 2nd gens on amazon.com for only $69 if you can't get them where Chris said, check on there for your model...

It's like the car is jerking back and forth really quick when i accelerate fast from a dig, it's been discussed numerous time before and i read enough of the posts to recognize the symptoms...

Also, i have a first gen and i don't believe it came with TCS or VSA... correct me if i'm wrong...

I notice that this shuddering happens during cold and wet weather more often, but my tires (Kumho Ecsta ASX, high perf all season) are worn in and in good condition ( deep tread, no bald spot...) so it's not my tires...

 

nah man no traction control.

i paid 60 bucks for my axle though. but that was through my honda discount.

labor for a axle was around 170 for me. i wish i did it myself but i have absolutely no time.

 

i paid 35 each and me and my dad put em in while we put in my lowering springs.

 

I've talked to them, they said you havent called.

 

yea, i didn't have time yesterday since school's in and i was busy doing labs yesterday... i'll give them a call soon...
