Axxis MM suck
Axxis MM suck
I have purchased Brembo cross-drilled and clotted front rotors and Axxis Metal Mater Pads for all wheels. Yesturday, Sat, I went to a shop and replaced front rotors, surfaced rear ones and put Axxis Metal Master Pads On. After that, the car does not brake, it just slides. Guy at the shop say that it's pads that do not brake. Am I missing anything here, guys?

I dont know...I hear those are some of the best pads out there. Maybe they installed it wrong? IE: Didn't connect something or fill up your brake fluid? Don't know, but please keep us updated because I was going to upgrade my brake system too.

Is there a web site of Axxis? Or where I can find legitimate info on them?

Is there a BRAKE-IN period or something for Axxis Metal Master pads?

Some people do say that you should use a regular and smooth braking action for the first 180-300 miles after you change the rotor and pads....but if you say that your cars slides, there is still something wrong

I have found on the net that on Axxis MM you would need to brake in those pads. About 20 stops from 30mph. And they really brake in after 100 miles. I will talk with the shop guys to warm up those pads. For now I 'll be driving '85 Integra
(my GF's old car waiting to be donated).

i had axxis pads. I loved them, you just have to give them a little while to break in. When you say the car slides, does that mean the wheels lock up?
I ment that the car would not stop for a while. Braking period is much longer. I have decided to return those pads and replace with Acura originals. Just checked the price, it's $112 for all wheels.

A guy at the shop did that. He was the same age as I, around 25. So, I am pretty sure about the test. And still no effect.

If you don't bother bleeding the brakes, installing the pads is pretty easy. Remove the wheel, open the caliper, swap pads (& don't forget the anti squeal grease), push pistons back in, close caliper, and put everything back together.
Not sure what could've gone wrong when they installed your Axxes, but that doesn't sound normal at all. Did you try disabling your ABS & seeing if the brake proportioning is right (by seeing if one set of wheels always locks up)?
