Autometer guages
Okay, I suppose that by the time you notice a large oil pressure drop on the oil pressure gauge, you're fucked anyway.
But oil temp is good to have so you know when your motor's warmed up and you can start beating on it.

How hard is it to install the electronic type of guages. They are a little more expensive but i figure they are easier. I'm interested in the project of putting them in and making the interior look nicer while getting some good info on my car.
The A/F ratio is helpful on a NA car? With no fuel mods?
What does the stock temp guage measure if not the oil? Just the coolant?
I think the oil pressure would be real good to know, more than the oil temp right?
BTW, I won't be droppin the $ for turbo or NOS any time soon and if I did, I could fit in the needed guages at that time. The EGT is the most expensive guage too.

A/F & EGT are the ones most useful for monitoring day to day engine life and performance. However, if you have no form of engine management or piggyback computers (TecII, Motec, AFC, SFC, etc), then there's not much to be done.
The stock temp gauge measures coolant. The engine is not completely warmed up for a while after the coolant gauge says it's in its normal operating range.
