Autocrossing

I noticed there were some of you here that Autocrossed the CL, Any tip or suggestions. I will be doing it this weekend.

EDIT: Particulatly, do I need to keep a certain amount of gas in the tank. Are there any fuel starvation problems on long turns with low fuel?

It's fun! If you get stuck in deep mud keep it in first near the redline until it floats out of the mud then jam it into 2nd... I'm glad i figured that one out. I don't do any mudding and what not anymore... I feel like all the stuff will be useless after it gets muddy. But, it's fun, goodluck, don't get stuck!

There's 2 different kinds of autocrossing: the kind that you in a parking lot around cones, called solo II (which is what I have done once) and the kind where you actually go on a course or around some country roads. Which one are you talking about because they are very different things?

SCCA SOLO II

I put an edit in the original post with a specific question about fuel starvation.

I noticed earlier this year there was a new CL-S at the autocross here in memphis, so I figured I could do the same with the '98.

I noticed ALL v6 CL's are in the same class. :P

Can't help you with that one unfortunately, I've only done it once.

update

got 5th out of 10.
Car did great. Running oem Michelins (sp) and the coarse was tight.
If I had different tire it would have been better.
Also, I didn't brake far enought in advance of the turns...I'm used to driving a smaller car in autocross...

class

I was running in Novice which limits competitors to street tire and times are indexed. The cars that beat me were mostly 5.0 mustang cobras. and one Modified Nissan 240sx
