Question API Service label

I just bought some Valvoline Synthetic Blend motor oil 5w-30. On the API Service label on the back it has a rating of "API Service SM/CF".

The owners manual says "Always use an oil that is labeled "API Service SJ." This Service rating may also include other designations, such as CD. These additional classifications are not a problem, as long as the label also carries the SJ classification."

So my question is, what dose all this mean and is it ok to add the oil knowing that the API Service label on the bottles don't match up with the API Service label in the owner's manual?

So it dosent matter what the API Service label states vs. whats required in the manual ? 'cause I don't know what all that chit means.
