Wiring up the i-vtec could pose a problem, but nothing that isn't fixable. Another problem is our tranny not handling an extra 40hp at all times.

Maybe you could use the 6sp type s tranny with it. If ghander got this he'll be walking all kinds of cars.

CLpower used to be ghander before he became a moderator

i think that engine ghander will be had to use since the i-vtec, different wiring, but thats why it comes with the ecu but i wonder if our wiring matchs up, ask the seller for a pic of the ecu

well the 6 speed trannies have their OWN ecu on them. So i'd have to get that ecu w/ the tranny.

If you can get K motors which are i-Vtec in an eg hatch you can get that motor in your car. The tranny will be the hard part.

k series are easy into a hatch though, they already have the mounting kits and harness's to make it a bolt in project.

That jdm 3.0 is going to sit opposite of older 3.0's because it rotates clockwise. I would talk to Todd at Hasport and see if he has any suggestions. If you have to fab some mounts I dont know if it would be worth it. $$$$$!

my mechanic builds hasports race cars. I'd be able to sit down w/ them and work w. them on it. I didn't know that it spun the opposit though. Thanks for the heads up mark.

You know what, do the 02-03 TL's have an i-Vtec? Mabey you can check engine compartments of newer TL's to see the mounting setup.

I'm preaty sure all i-Vtec's rotate clockwise, even 3.0's. It's weird to pop the hood of new honda's and see the intake manifold right in front of you instead of the exhaust manifold.

It's not an I-VTEC motor, only the K series are. I-VTEC is VTEC w/ VTC.

*Edit to my last post, guess it is an I-VTEC. Apparently I-VTEC is totally different on the japanese market V6, as VTC wouldn't work too well w/ sohc vtec. Has to do w/ variable cylinder technology I think?

Nah, its some other variant of the J30.

I didn't look at the link, when I did, figured I better check that out. Was associating I-VTEC w/ VTC at first, and I knew no J series had that.

I was researching and this is what I came up with

http://www.globalcar.com/datasheet/H...nspire30TL.htm

the 03 Inspire has this engine.

so when looking into the swap I would say TL mounts...

Yea I emailed the guy asking some questions which he didnt answer. I asked him if it was the J30A1, J30A2, J30A3, or the J30A4 motor just to see what he'd say to that (just seeing if he knws his shit), then I asked him if the original tranny came with it, and if not, then what was the orginal tranny, auto or manual. Lastly I asked him what the stats on the motor was....his exact reply was (with the spacial error and everything, lol):

IT DOES NOT COME WITH TRANSMISSION.IT SHOULD FIT BASICALLYBUT WE DO'NT INSTALL HERE,ONLY TOLD BY CUSTOMER.

THANKS.....................TOM.................... ..888-886-8898..........................

well that's completely understandable. These places just get TONS of motors and sell them. They are strictly motor shops. I remember when the bseries first started showing up, the motor shops had no clue what they were.
