So I've owned the cl for about three months, and it's been in the shop for at least two months during that time. It started out being that the rings were shot, causing it to burn oil, and when the oil got low the vtec light (p1259) came on. That got taken care of, but for the last month I've been having issues with the vtec light just coming on at weird times. I'll have the cruise control on going 75 or so on the highway, usually going up a hill, and the vtec code will go off. I'm completely baffled, as is the indepedant mechanic I've taken it to and the local acura/honda dealer. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? Oh, and fyi it's a 2.3 with 60k miles.

Indeed...I meant the vtec code on the cel...and as far as oil, it was initially low oil, but since the new rings the oil level has been fine...truly strange to me

 

Failed oil preasure sensor. Posible damage to the v-tec solinoid.

Best ideas I can come up with. But no problems with the 3.0 v-tec.
