really dont think its possible what with the lack of engine room and the fact that our 3.0 trannys would suffer... the only thing ive seen is the H22A turbo swap into a 3.0 body but thats money that i dont have...

I know that the 3.0 trannys suck, ive gone through 2, but would the accord manual tranny work on out cars? I was thinkin' of running the turbo and most of the piping under the car just like you would on most chevy trucks that people boost. Its just an idea and i was thinkin bout tryin it over the summer if anyone thought it was possible.

Sounds like a sweet setup, but maybe too good to be true, I would like to think that the Accord 5 speed would fit right into our 3.0's but im not sure if thats possible. Even if the turbo idea is a little far fetched I would still enjoy having a manual in my car instead of a clunky 4 speed auto...

I dont know if I'm remembering correctly but I believe that the j30 in your car isnt reliable under boost. Maybe a rebuild would help? Also, the manual tranny was only offered with a four cylinder and I dont think its a direct bolt up. But, good luck with your research and hopefully youll be able to proceed with nice results.

by the way, where in NC are you?

there was a 2nd gen guy who turbo'd his CL-S, cost him over 10k, not worth it for our cars IMO

EDIT: in the link above there is a post of the guy who turbo'd his car:

Allmotor_2000
'03 CL-S 6spd (NA), 13.572 @ 102.65
he had a turbo setup at one point

Seems like you need help. Well, as for a turbo'd J30A1 engine, it's been done before. As for help as to what is needed, you can pm me. But before you waste my time like many others, I want to see that you can afford your modding needs. I can assure you that I will own the fastest J series engine to any CL/Accord platform period. So don't bother trying to compete with me. But if you want something different, I can help you at no cost...I only ask you not to waste my time.

So again, if you have a couple of grand in your piggy bank to spare on a project like this, let me know and I will help you out. But if you're someone with a couple of dreams and what not, please do not waste my fucking time.

haha yes i would need your help and i do have some money, but dont be so sure that you will have the fastest CL when i take the time to do what i want because i will assure you that when someone says that i cant be faster than them, im going to make it a point to surpass them as i have done with my civic, bike, and old wrx. but to answer you ? i do have money and all i need to know is what is needed to be done

he had a turbo setup at one point

He finally got it to around 475whp with Zero traction, and with the fact that he never took it to the track with it running propery. He would have easily ran around 11 seconds in the 1/4 mile. But he never had proof that he could have done so. It would soooo be worth it in our cars if you can afford it, simply because he can have the project done so in a car roughly 600 lbs lighter if he was willing to make sacrifices like I am.

Let me give you a sample of what you are going againt. I have spent $15,000 as of now on my project with my J35 6 speed swap as of now. I have 3 engines, and my 2nd engine (A J32A2 engine) is simply for a drag set up. I can assure you, that when I say I will have the fastest J series 1st gen, I fucking mean I will own the fastst 1st gen period. As of now, I have no treats. The only person I will give props to, is Insoyne. And he will easily take my times with my NA J35 6speed. But that's the whole point of my turbo'd set up with my J32A2 engine, it's to give him a run for his money. But I cannot wait to take on the challenge when his car is done. So, as for a second place car, I will galdly help you out in making your car a bit better. But do not count on being faster than me, ever....

I like Cocoa's attitude. He's straight buisness.

Then again, you must be serious if you want to make serious power.

And if you're serious about turbo'ing your car, the first mod you should think about is a dr. evil built tranny for your 3.0. Costs about $3500-4000. That will handle your turbo setup.

Turbo on a J serries is a terrible idea. Put the CompTech supercharger on instead. Much more reliable.

Just my 2 cents.

yeah its just my two cents and someone correct me if I am wrong, but if you are serious about making the power, why not go with the comptech set up, you can get whatever boost you want out of that thing, just lower your compression, dump a shitload of fuel in there, up the boost, and blow the fucker up. O and props to everyone that is already quick... i am pretty sure that my CL will never be fast, so I have my biked for that.

Why not just have some fun with a car that you don't drive that much and do something different with it that no-1 has really done???? i think it will be more fun building a turbo'd J30A than buying a 5000$ supercharger that lays down 55 more HP and after you get on it once your tranny goes for the 3rd time in 2 years.......

I hear your point man, good luck if you decide to turbo the j30, I'd be impressed to see pics of it if you can get it goin. I know it can be done, I think it may be a big pain. I would love to see the finished product. Personally, I'm saving my for the comptech

Sorry about last night. I had a friend murdered at his own house and had a lot to drink last night trying to cope with it. I appologize for the imaturity last night.

I get off work tonight around 6pm and will do the research again to find you all the answers you need. I'm not at my computer (it's in Dallas, I'm in SoCal), so I have to find you the answers first. And then we'll go from there.
