Anybody Make a Conical Filter for 3.0CL?

Hey guys, I want to replace only my airbox with a conical K&N air filter. I don't want to go with the total intake kit since that will be too loud and more expensive. Anybody know of a kit available? I've seen plenty for other cars.

sorry to inform you but replacing just the intake box with a filter will make your car loud, b/c my doing that you're bypassing the intake resonator and sucking in ALOT more air.

to test out how loud it would be just take off the top half of your stock intake box, take the filter to the open end, leave it open, run down the street in your car, and see if it's too loud

I don't mind it being a little more loud when sucking in air. But the metal tube in those intake kits resonate too much at idle and produce a high pitched hum. It's too bad they don't make an intake kit made out of plastic for this car. It would be more quiet. But back to the point, anybody know of a kit? I know Neuspeed makes them for VWs and some Hondas (not CL 3.0 V6).

The sound you hear from aftermarket intakes is due to the removal of the factory box and resonators. Adding a filter to the flex tube will make it sound like any other SRI. Try it out. Remove your box, and just let the tube hang, you will hear the same sound as a SRI.

Thanks for the link. Looks a little pricey though.....wonder why it costs so much?

As for those metal tube intake kits, I used to have one and compared it with the airbox off. The sound I am talking about is the hum at idle that comes from the resonating metal tube. I like the swishy sound it makes when air rushes in, but I can't stand that loud hum at idle.
