Any Advice
Hi,
I just bought a used door from junk yard(no panel). Now I'm about to install it, however, I've never done it before I was just wondering if any of you who has the experience can give me a heads-up. Any advice/suggestions would be very appriated.
Thank you for reading my thread. Have a nice day!

I'll try to help. 1st I would've suggested using a marker to outline on the new door where the hinges meet the door. This makes it easier when lining the new door up. But use a marker to mark on the hinges where the bolts are on the hinges. Get a rope, open the window on the door and tie the rope to the window frame - wrap it in more than one spot for weight distribution because you are going to throw the rope over a beam in your garage to support the door when you take it off and when you install the new one - these door are heavy and a PITA when you are trying to bolt it on and hold it in place at the same time. A floor jack works as well if you balance the door in the middle - and put a towel between the door and the jack. The floor jack is tough to do to balance the door even with a helper. If you mark the bolts on the hinges it will give you a basis as to where the door was before you took it off so it should be close to aligned when you put it on. Good luck to you!
