The alternator in my '99CL is rated at 80 amps. I'm looking at an amp that has a 50a fuse on it, just trying to figure out if everything should be ok. I was told that car manufacturers put in larger than needed alternators--so if you have EVERYTHING on in the car drawing the maximum load, you still won't be near 80a. I know the amp won't be drawing 50a continuous, but I believe it will be something like 30-35 amps. Anyone have any experience they can post about?
