Alternative to machining cams?

the honda accord has the same J30 as us....but in two versions.

1. our 97-99 3.0

2. the 2000-2002 distributor-less J30

has anyone looked into the idea of perhaps swtiching out the distributor for a DIS system? This would let us straight drop in the type-S cams without machining them and also allow us for some MSD pruducts like the blaster coil system and others. I don't know much about DIS systems except that the dont had a distributor and that the have the coil packs mounted directly next to the wires for the spark plugs.

any thoughts?

The DIS is worse from what I've read on av6.net. Less responsive to mods on the car plus you really can't modify the ignition itself.

With our ignition, you can add all sorts of stuff and gain some power.
