Alarm systems

At our meet a couple of weeks ago, the guys looked at me like I had a third eye when I locked my car/set my alarm with my key fob. They said they've never seen, or shall I say "heard", a cl with a stock alarm that chirps when you lock/unlock it. I have a 99 3.0, and It chirps once when you lock it, and twice when you unlock it. Were their previous years/packages that had an alarm that did'nt chirp?

Mines chirped too (I have a 97) you have to press a key sequence in order to turn the chirps on or off. I guess they just didnt know how to do that!

appearantly it will go off if you unlock your car and get in and put the key in but dont turn the key at all for a minute. i did that to make a phone call yesterday and it started going off. i guess it thought was trying to hot wire it or something. anyhow we have the coolest stock alarm sound. the cl alarm doesnt have shock sensors does it? how else does it go off other than the panic button?

I like the chirpy alarm...it is a nice break from the Vipor and Python "beep-beep" alarm's that everyone seems to have...but maybe thats just because i'm a geek
