Alarm problems
A friend of mine has a 1997 CL that seems to be having an annoying problem. The alarm seems to be going off at random, for no particular reason. My knowledge of this car and the factory alarm system is minimal, so any tips that can help me resolve this problem would be greatly appreaciated.
i.e (what triggers the alarm under normal circumstances? As far as I've been able to tell from other postings, its set off by opening the doors after locking the door with the fob?)
The current resolution is that the car is being left with a key in the ignition to avoid the alarm going off, which is far from ideal, but better then the thing going off at 4:30 am.
Thanks in advance...

There are only two triggers on the factory alarm.
Door switches and hood switch.
It is likely that the hood pin switch is getting moisture inside of it during the night and closing the open loop.
Try replacing the switch.
