AEM V2 vs. cheap 3 inch intake
i have a 80 dollar 3 inch intake on my 2.2 cl and was wondering if it is worth it to spend money for a V2. i can get one shipped for only 230. i am looking for more low end power.

I've got a v2 intake. I rather pay 250 than 80 for intake any day. I mean your paying what you get. The more you pay the better intake you get. The less you pay well you know the answer to that.

i get less MPG now that its colder out.
i think its cuz the car is using the "cold air system" now, and in the hot weather,
it doesnt need it .

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
i think INJEN is better than AEM but that is personal preference
i love the sound of my INJEN but AEM V2 has shown better gains in some ranges but oveall INJEN is top of the line

v2 isn't a cold air intake, its more a short ram....yet better mileage....

gas mileage should be better with a colder air charge butyou willundoubtedly get on the gas more so differences will be negligible unless you dont adjust your driving style.
winter gas is different than summer gas, you will get worse mileage in the winter

Actually gas mileage suffers with colder air, but your HP goes up. Heat affects turbo cars a lot more than NA cars. I saw a torbo'd Maxima that lost almot a 100 hp after the engine warmed up. Hotter air ensures a more complete combustion resulting in better gas mileage.
True story about the winter gas. It's to cut down on smog since people let their engines warm up for 30 min.

Where and how much did you pay for you INJEN intake?
I saw an INJEN intake going for 127.00 at nopi.com, but it's for a
98' V6 Accord. Do you think it will fit my 98' 3.0?

you should w/ any intake. I say go generic or search for a used CAI. I got a used AEM CAI for $50 w/ a brand new filter

says who though? I've yet to see a dyno comparing it to other intakes, and the cost alone wouldn't make the extra power (would be a max of 1-2 IMO) worth it.

not true at all. V2 aside, AEM's originally CAI was just copied by other companies and sold cheaper. The price of intakes these days if fucking retarded, but they know people are stupid enough to pay that much for them.
I had a generic setup that I built off of a civic intake and then bought a generic down piece and it was just as good as the others i've tried.
