AEM Programmable Engine Management Systems??

Has anyone heard of this? I was reading Sport Compact Car right now, and came across an ad for it. It sounds pretty cool, in theory anyway. From what I read, its a replacement ECU that you can program from your PC to whatever specifications you want. (I guess to adjust for mods, etc.)

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Anyone know the price, or anyone that has one, and does it work?

Heres the link to the AEM site: AEM Programmable Engine Management Systems

Yea...I've been reading about that for a while now. Its cool and all...assuming you know how to adjust it and not screw your whole car up. But the price is hella steep. From the places I've checked out, the plug and play race versions cost somewhere in the +$1300.00 category.

Hah...and you thought Comptech headers were expensive.

Thanks for the info. Thats a shitload of money. I thought they would be around $500 or so. That's a good point about screwing your car up too. I downloaded the sampe software from AEM, and before it lets you use the software, it gives a warning about modifying your stock settings.
