I just ordered an AEM CAI for the 2.2CL. Should I keep the AEM filter that comes with it or should I upgrade it to a K&N one? Anybody here have any opinions? (I know you guys will) Can someone also tell me what K&N model number I would need to get to fit the CAI kit.

I have never heard that before. Looking at AEM's website, I got the impression they use their own filters. According to them, those are good filters, but they would never say anythig else but that. I have always had K&N's on my rides in the past.

AEM uses AEM brand filters on their cai's, and I wouldnt waste money on a k&n fitler it's identical to the aem filter.

 

My AEM CAI came with the AEM filter. I chose NOT to use the AEM filter because I had recently bought a K&N filter, and put it on instead.

 

Did you notice a difference between the AEM and K&N? Also what is the model number for the K&N filter which fits the AEM CAI? I know they make a lot of cone shaped filters.

The old AEMs came with a K&N im sure the new ones are K&N to but with an AEM logo on them instead.
