AEM Intake

I heard that an aem cold air intake from a v6 1998 accord would fit a 1997 3.0CL. Is this true? And if so would there be any sort of modifications I would have to do to make it fit? Or does aem make an intake for a cl? If not then is that the best choice, or can i find a better one?

Im pretty sure the 98 accord would work with some modification but im not sure. I know for the 2.2/3 you would use a 94-97 accord intake but the 3.0 might use the 98. AEM does not make an intake for this car i think dragon or something like that is the only place that makes intakes for the 1st Gen CL.

Thats right...just about any (engine) mod for a 98 and newer Accord works for our 3.0's....they're exactly the same except our gearing is a little different.

well, you can get 98 accord aem cai with 2.5" or you can fit a 2001 CL-S in there to with 3" opening... thats what i did... where the 2001 CL-S has to make one cut for the by-pass valve i made 3 cuts...
1) bottom 90 degree angle off the tube...
2) top straight run with nipples
3) 45 degree angle after the straight pipe with nipples
(not as dificult as it sounds...)

you attach the 45 degrree bend to stock rubber tubing, attach the by-pass to the 45 angle.... the rest of the tube to by-pass, and the filter in your well to the tube... simple!!!! Great effect havoing 3" as opposed to 2.5" more air = more power!!! :p

I've got an AEM Cold Air thats from 98 Accord and it fit fine. They had to make another hole to mount it on because I have the Air Bypass.
