aem cai vs v2 intake

aem cai vs v2 intake

hEy guys

has anybody noticed a big difference between these two intakes


also how often should you clean your filter - I have not cleaned mine since ive installed my Cold air intake by AEM

how is this done ?

i personally dont like CAI. The v2 is a good intake, its a mix between a short ram and CAI.

good rule of thumb is to check it when you change your oil. very least is to shake/knock it to get the dust out.

thanks for the info -

I have the Wing West front lip installed on my car, do I need to take that off in order to access the air filter ?

no, you can either lift the car and access it from the bottom, or turn the wheel and pull the plastic lining back to get to the filter. Or, remove the whole intake, and then re-install it.

the v2 is overpriced garbage, go with a regular CAI

ok - what I did was

I pryed the plastic underneath after removing a screw to acces the air filter -
It was def. dirty and not red anymore-

i washed it twice and installed in the next day - when it dried it was def. cleaner, but not the original red color -

I did notice a difference in intake noise and performance ... although I think I should get another AEM filter -

is it necessary to change the filter entirely ?

what did you wash it with? You need to re-oil it for it to be red

re oil it ? ... how u do that .. and with what ?

I cleaned it with a soft scrub bathroom cleaner .. soaked it twice and had water run thru it - ... worked prtty good -
