aem cai

finally got a cai yesterday and installed it! unless they sent me the wrong kit it wasnt as easy as i've heard from the board. i had to drill new holes for the mounting brackets. i was under the impression that it was a direct bolt-on. wasnt hard just didnt expect to have to drill anything. and mine doesnt make the loud hissing noise ive read about. there is a hiss but not that loud. but when u get on it then vtec kicks in:wackit:

I had to drill a hole for the bottom bracket also.. For the top bracket, it lines up with a whole without thread and I cannot put a nut to the back of it because it is blocked off. What did you do??

IMine doesn't make a "LOUD" hissing noise eigther. The hissing is there but not that loud. I LOVE the sound when VTEC kicks in. People look at me like I am krazy when I fly down the streets..

The 3.0 are not bolt on's drilling is a must........but you can always just let it hang/sit there.

I know for a fact what I did was 100% right. That shows me that you know even less about cars if you are saying that .... Technically, the CAI is for an Accord so..........

Sorry...I didn't realize that you had a 3.0...and since you know so much about cars...I guess it slipped your mind that the 2.2 is a DIRECT bolt-on....and no shit the cai is made for an accord...I'm sorry for slipping up...I should of noticed what kinda CL you had..that still doesn't give you the right to question my knowledge about CL'S...I'm happy to say that this is one of the few mistakes that I've made out of all 390ish posts that I've made...I try to give people my opinion...and when I was replying the first time I had it in my mind that the car was a 2.2...I never noticed it was a 3.0...

When I had the AEM I used the plastic piece on the side of the battery tray to mount to bracket (the plastic clips in the whole! not sure if you will understamd what i mean)... but in comparison, thanks to Ross, I now have the INJEN.. I like it soooo much better and it is a BOLT-ON! It fits perfect!

its a low hiss at idle you can barely hear it , but when driving up to about 2500-3000 rpm it gradually gets louder, then really loud when vtec kicks in.

i took out the plastic protector in the wheel well of course you have to take the wheel off also. i drilled a hole right next to the one your talking about. then with the plastic off you can access it from the bottom.
