advice needed

so my car has been shifting very hard lately so I dropped it off @ Acura of Boston to have the tranny flushed. And they called and said I need a re-built trans. They want $3250 for the tranny and $880 labor, I dont have $4130 to give to acura to do this cause I have to go back to school in three weeks so If anyone could give some advice as to how to get this done cheaper it would be appreciated.

never pay even half that for a rebuilt tranny. I have a Corvette as well and i only paid 1600 to have that totally overhauled. Going to a dealer for that type of work is suicide. You would even be better off just buying a new tranny and having it installed by a local shop. Hell, AAMCO would do better than that. Find a little local shop and get it rebuilt. I would be suprised if it was more than 1200 bucks.
