If you are looking for some sort of protect for your car, the stock alarm doesn't proved that much. I would recommend getting a Viper or Clifford alarm system.

I should be very similar. I bought a shock sensor but have not had the time to install it.

BTW.....our alarm systems are not "bad", they are made by Alpine but only come with basic functions. It can be expanded upon and can be just as effective as purchasing an entirely new system.

CL-Z, when you install yours, can you tell me how it came out, and where i could find the wires for the alarm. cause i have no clue where the wires for the alarm are. I think our alarm is good also, it's just that it's limited on many things, like the shock sensor.

I checked with the dealer and they told me it cost around $600 CDN for them to upgrade my stock alarm. They told me not worth it too. Then, I asked them if I can get someone else to upgrade it and they said the warranty will be voided. They suggest to install a separate alarm systems and that's what I've done.
