Acura "Product Updates"
Anyone have a list of updates from Acura for our 1st gen cars? (manufacturer recalls I mean... the hondaspeak equivalent).
I've come across an item on the UK Prelude site about the rear dampers... they need a shim in the top where they mount to the body so you don't get that loud "clunk" when backing up over a bump (like into the driveway). Ring any bells?
Thx!

Yes, check with the dealer.
I just bought my CL and bring it to the dealer for service and they told me there is a recall on the PCV values (which I still have no clue what it is for) and they replace it for free.

I first tried calling the dealer who said they're too busy. Nice customer service huh? Anyways, I then called Honda Canada and spoke to a rep there in customer service who'd run the report for my VIN number, and get back to me after labor day.
Trouble is that most of the time they make up lame excuses when I bring up recall items found on Alldata... but if enough people have the same problem they should consider addressing it.
I'm suprised nobody has complained about the "thunk" from the rear suspension yet.... maybe it's just my car, but I'll bet it's a common problem on the larger Honda products.
I'll post a follow up when Honda Canada gets back to me.

well that sounds odd...acura/honda personally pride themselves for quality customer service...last time my friend had to get something fixed, they gave him a courtesy call within a couple of days apologizing for soemthing they messed up on...and when i went to get my 3,750 miles service maint...it took over 7 hours to do it when they didnt know if my car was done or not yet...so they gave me a mad discount for the maint...they slashed the price from like $60 to like 15 for the inconvenience...so u should go down there and bitch to the dealership, because if u personally file a complaint to the acura company itself they will make the acura dealership apologize to you and you will probably get some free stuff
