Acura/Honda Mechanic in North Jersey
All,
My 99 CL 3.0 needs complete checkup and some fixes. I have been to the dealers these guys are sitting there for emptying pockets . The work is no different.
So, I am looking for a Honda/Acura mechanic in the North New Jersey area who has good honda engine knowledge/experiance and quite reasonable also.
I have been having the following issues for the last couple of months;
1. EGR light on due to "Insufficient EGR flow" need to fix this.
2. ABS light on
3. Screeching sounds when brakes applied.
4. Muffler needs to be replaced.
5. Timing belt replaced.
If anybody knows or have experiance in fixing above issues pls. kindly share the mechanic's contact info.
Pls suggest...
Thanks in advance..

Theres a diy on this site for cleaning out the egr (fairly common prob), as far as the brakes it might be worth it to install new rotors as well as pads to prevent future headaches. Also just curious why does your muffler need to be replaced? Is it rusted out? The muffler would prob be worth going with the aftermarket part to save some dough vs. the oem part. Sometimes it ends up being cheaper to bring your own parts to the mechanic to be installed. just my

I have changed my rotors to performance rotors also got new ceramic brake pads...but still dunno why is that screeching sound.
About the muffler....yes when I saw it looks like it needs to be replaced due to rusting. i am planning to buy an aftermarket muffler to replace it.
The lab seems to be famous..will talk to them...to get a quote.

Give Ryan Bittle a call. He is down in Brick, doesn't charge race shop prices and does excellent work. Ryan runs the mechanics shop at Meineke and drives a supercharged 6speed TL. Tell him Idol told you to call.

I would try an acura dealership first for the EGR, to see if it's covered by the recall

Some of the sites:
1. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...s/recallsearch.
2. http://www.car.com/content/own/servi...97913&id=25022
3. http://www.myride.com/autorecalls.html
If you know of an external authorised link that mentions about 99 Acura CL recall due to EGR problem let me know.

Hi. Just had a question on the shop in Fort Lee. My father-in-law wants to get the 90K service done on his Accord and is looking for a Honda specialist.
Does this shop go by another name? Is this a tuning / swap shop or do they do general repairs like belts & pump?
Any idea how much they charge for a timing belt ? I tried calling a few times but there is no answer.
