Acura CL Venom 400 Module

Does anyone know about this mod? If it does 1/2 of what they claim I would be happy

GAIN UP TO 25% MORE HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE FROM YOUR VEHICLE THROUGHOUT THE MIDRANGE!!! The VENOM 400 Performance control Module is an add-on control unit that features its own micro-controller. This module is connected to the vehicle’s sensors and increases engine performance by monitoring the sensors output characteristics and modifying the input to vehicle’s existing computer. The Venom 400 activates at about 25-30% throttle angle. Upon activation it modifies the input signals going into your computer, in particular the Manifold Absolute Pressure and Throttle Position Sensor Signals. When the computer sees these “modified” signals it will provide a different set of fuel and ignition maps than it would normally provide. The Venom 400 makes the computer use maps that are more aggressive and provide better engine performance. Installation is easy and an be completed in 30 minutes in most cases.

What chip/computer mod should I be looking at? I have a chip in my BMW & it made a huge differance (in addition to a cai, bigger AFM, bigger injectors)

Do you have a CL or what?

BMW's love chips. So do turbo Audi's and VeeDubs and VR6's. Honda's don't benefit as much with chips. They do, however, benefit from Hondata if you have some mods.

The application selection wizard shows what Hondata products are available for your vehicle.

Please select your vehicle model:

* Accord
* Civic
* Del Sol
* Integra
* Prelude
* RSX
* S2000

If your vehicle is not listed above, then Hondata does not offer any ECU upgrades for that model. A Heatshield may be available for your vehicle.

Would the Accord application mean my 97 3.0 CL?

98-02 Accord for the 3.0's I'd assume. But I don't think your car needs Hondata yet. Only if it's highly mod'd. It's just so damn expensive.

I wouldn't do Hondata unless your are running some serious mods like a turbo or supercharger.

Don't bother with a Venom. Most people I know who bought one removed it soon after installation. It makes you feel like you're driving at wide open throttle all the time.

I guess for now I'll just put in a CAI & Plugs/wires. Which plugs & wires work the best on these motors?

Thanks guys.

So it doesn't exactly add horsepower, it just sort of presses the gas down for you?
