They do, your CL has one, in the radiator, it's just not strong enough Your tranny lines run through the radiator, that's the line you tap off for the external cooler

Question Opinion: 1997 Acura 2.2CL or 1997 Acura 3.0CL

Hey guys whats going on..I need your help again lol...Here are the 2 cars I looked at today..The car above fell through...So here are 2 more I checked out..

- 1997 Acura 2.2CL
- $6995
- Kelly Blue Book Value $7060
- 96,986 Miles
- 4 Cylinder/Automatic Transmission
- Gray Leather Interior
- Primrose Metallic Exterior
- CD/Radio
- Power Windows/Locks
- Looked great cosmetically..Didn't get to test drive it yet, I will on Wednesday probably.

- 1997 Acura 3.0CL
- $6996
- Kelly Blue Book Value $8385
- 73,405 Miles
- V6 Cylinder/Automatic Transmission
- Gray Cloth Interior
- Dark Green Exterior
- CD/Radio
- Power Windows/Locks
- Looked okay cosmetically..They started it up and it sounded kind of loud..I think it was because of the muffler..They said they were going to be doing work on it (i.e. brakes, stuff like that I think)...I will be test driving this Wednesday also if it is ready.

I just want your guys advice on these cars...Tell me what you think..I don't have experience with cars or anything like that...Let me know please..Thank you guys again..And can a mod maybe change the title to this thread to something like (Acura CL car help/buy question)...Thank you again

I like the green one better, cuz I like the color it's rare, and it's a 3.0. Check the tranny shifts carefully and try to get an extended warranty, or get the 2.2 and drop an h22 prelude motor in it

The bumper on the tanish silver cl looks misaligned?

I used to have a 97 3.0 in that green color. Nice color, looks great when clean

The prices listed are a bit much though.

Also, since I sold my cl a little over a month ago, maybe I can give you some advice. Make sure you test drive it with the car being cold!!! I cannot stress this enough. One of the reasons that I sold my car was because when it wasn't yet warmed up, it would jerk at a stop and sometime when I gave it gas, rev up to 4,000 something RPM then engage 1st gear, which resulted in me spinning the wheels. However, once it was all warmed up, everything was buttery smooth.

I like the green 1 too because it had lower mileage...It has cloth but I don't really care about leather that much...I will test drive both and see how they drive...They offer extended warranties on their cars so I will definitely be getting 1 for sure no ifs ands or buts...The green 1 didn't look as cosmetically good as the primrose 1 but I will be getting it painted a different color anyway..

Yeah those are closer to NY..I'm trying to stay away from the 1s far from me though because if something goes wrong with the car then I would have to drive it all the way out there or tow it..I want to try to get 1 closer to where I live...The 1st car is the 1 I actually am going to look at tomorrow hopefully..Pray that they fix everything on it guys..

Just makes sure it shifts smoothly, the CL auto transmissions have a tendency to, well, die. There's a number of threads about it around here. It looks like the car is in good shape though. It looks like the premium edition though, which is a nice upgrade.

Yes I believe it is the premium edition..It shifted smoothly to me..And I didn't let it warm or anything..Had it started for about 2 minutes then cut it off and then took it for a test drive..It was pretty smooth...I plan on getting an extended warranty anyway...I had another question as well, where do you guys suggest I get a keyless entry remote from, it doesn't come with 1 I don't think?...I seen 1 online on ebay for about $46 shipped brand new...

i've seen people take the switchblade bodies from newer cars and put in the cut key blade and the remote guts into the new unit.

I would rather just buy...I need an extra anyway since my car didn't come with 1..Does anyone know how much Acura charges for an extra key...I think I need to get it done because the '98 and up have chips in them I believe..

Dealer charged me $40 for my 01 CL key. I like the car a lot, the green does look nice. Just clear corners, a slight drop, and tints and your set!. Just curious - what color do you plan on painting it?

IDK I have a few colors in mind..Maybe a blue or like grayish blue..Not sure yet..And was the $40 for cutting and everything(i.e. using the computer to make the key recognize your car)...?

Just called Acura and the guy told me about $37 to cut and program a extra key...And I also asked him about the keyless entry remote and he said about $52...I think I may get 1 off ebay...Save like $10 bucks..I couldn't find the FCC ID under my seat though on the box...I'm sure the '98 have keyless fobs right..?
