HAH! I was just thinking of this earlier today. It only hade like 40 more horsepower over the stock max horsepower, but the difference was that after hitting that point where the stock hit max, instead of going back down, it kept going up. Not much more HP though, definitely not worth the $4k. Youd think that if they just changed teh size of the wheel where the belt attached to the superchareger it would make MUCH higher gains, by spinning the turbine faster to intake more air. I guess not.

Comptech's dyno (see http://www.comptechusa.com/images/dyno/98av6scfinal.pdf) shows a 49hp gain at the wheels, which is like a 55hp motor gain. I figure with that, type-s cams, headers, and exhaust should be close to 300. And if that's still not enough for ya, Comptech offers a high-boost pully for it. As for the tranny, if you can afford $5k for a SC then you should be able to afford a Dr. Evil if needed. Otherwise, if you're looking for killer speed go spray or a POS WRX. If not, then be happy you have a top quality, luxury, coolest style car.

For those who feel it is not worth the $$ are not looking at the total benefits. The total power, not peak, is significant and minimizes the gains from headers, etc. Playing the peak game is irrelevant from a mod like this.
And BTW, we will have several 300+ WHP AV6's soon.

Shit just get a Dr evil tranny and custom turbo. you could probably do that for about $5k I bet. I'm sure with that you wcould get as much as 100-150 HP gains. With that kind of HP you'd be unstopable MUHAHAHAHA!

Are we talking about the same car here. A custom turbo and transmission rebuild could be done for $5k ONLY if you perform ALL of the work yourself.
A GOOD, and complete, turbo kit would run in the $6k - $7k range if purchased from someone reputable. Add the transmission and you are hitting near $10k.
