about how many miles?
thats a tough one to answer without any of your car's info- i.e. 2.3 vs 3.0 especially, MT vs. AT, how you drive it, etc., etc.
I get about 400 miles to a tank before my fuel light comes on in my 98 2.3 manual, so I guess roughly 100 miles?

You have a 2 gallon reserve tank, so even if you get to E, it should raise back up to about a quarter tank, but def make sure to fill it then

i put 15 in it tonite. i was just wondering because i was feeling broke lol. Is this true about the "reserve tank" It puts the tank back up to quarter after E ?
Also, sometimes when im driving really fast the fuel gauge will drop. Do our cars have a sort of estimator, like it tells how much gas driving at that speed you have left?

I dunno about the fuel needle climbing up again, but yes after the fuel light comes on you actually have 3 gallons of extra reserve to get you to the next station if need be, fuel light comes on at about 14 gallons gone, and the max capacity is something like 17.1
The max capacity is 17.2 gallons. I thought it was 4 gallons left when the needle hit empty, though... doesn't really matter though.
I could probably go about 150 extra miles (100% city) when my gauge hits the 1/4 mark, but I usually only go about 80 to 100 of those (100% city) if I don't feel like filling up. The gauge lags significantly at the 1/4 mark, so I don't think there's actually 1/4 of a tank left when it hits it.
What's this stuff about the gunk being left at the bottom of the tank? Isn't the fuel pulled from the bottom of the tank as it is? While you're driving, isn't it getting sloshed around and remixed anyway? And doesn't the system have several filters going from the tank to the engine? I thought that was a myth that doesn't really exist anymore (gunk at the bottom of the tank)
Also, would making the fuel pump work to pull gas from a semi-empty tank really degrade its lifespan? To me that seems unlikely, but I'd really like to know.
edit: whoops... was thinking of those distances from 1/4 of a tank left, not on E... fixed.

It's almost not even worth driving all the way to work and back because the gas prices are so crazy. I'm almost literally pouring my paychecks in my tank..

Honestly, I feel worse for my father though. He drives a V8 Ram to and from Cleveland (40 miles) everyday.

When I started I was amazed/mad when it would cost me $24 to fill up from rock bottom E in the accord. Now it's pretty much $50 for the CL. Sad that gas prices have doubled in 3 years for no apparent reason aside from greed.

Speaking of that, you never answered my PM and you never gave me a call... I was trying to meat another moderator man...
yeah i do remember when it was 97cents sometimes at the spur station
*Question?
Tomorrow i get paid and i will be like almost to the E on my fuel gauge, after driving to school. When i get home i plan on filling the tank, should i put one of the Lucas fuel treatments in?
does that really help on mileage?
