99 3.0CL transmission swap
I keep going back and forth with this car. I decide to get rid of it, then get a good look at it and fall in love again. I'm having trouble finding a good used trans here, even thought about rebuilding mine, but still not sure what direction to go, so I'm keeping my options open. Will an Accord trans fit this? They seem to be more plentiful. Am I stuck using ONLY the 98-99 CL trans?

The Accord trans have the same issues as our trans, your best bet is to rebuild what you have with better clutch packs and add a trans fluid cooler

So what special tools will I need, and where do I go for the correct "better parts"? I've built several motors over the years, and went through one GM auto trans back in the mid 80's, I want to say Metric, or Turbo 200, and that went just fine. And how about a service manual to show me the breakdown?

How about the "Parts Authority" kits from Rock Auto?

Do I replace the converter, or drain and fill it a few times? I will flush the lines out, add a cooler and a filter.

you can try skipping the TC at first, mine ended up needing replaced when my trans went

my trans blew a year ago ended up getting it rebuild with all new parts. cost me $2253 with a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. It blew at 156k and now I have close to 175k and noticed its been taking awhile to shift into 4th gear and most of the time it won't shift down into 1st when I come to a stop.
