99 3.0CL Catback System..what fits?

To the poit, all the rest is supplemental. What kind of catback Exhaust sytem would work for my car(1999 3.0CL)? Will I have to buy the piping and muffler seperate or will systems made for the 98-01 Accord V6 work for my 99 3.0 CL as well?

Ok, well I've just spent the last hour or so reading all the "noob" guides etc. I just bought my car about... 5 hours ago, and decided to look for performance parts for it, but I couldn't fina ny, then I came here and found that parts for my car are the same as for a 98-01 Accord. I know this works for CAI systems, but does it also work for exhaust systems as well? I also read that there is no body kit for this model, but I was just looking over at www.extremedimensions.com and it looks like they have just one body kit for my model car. They also have a verticle door conversion kit.. which would be sweet.

Any 94-97 2dr accord exhaust would work. It's very close and will only need to be shortened a little to work with the 3.0.

wow, any exhaust? Does it have to be the V6 Accord, or can it be any model? Also, about headers... Do teh accord headers have to be modified in any way to fit the engine, or is that pretty much a perfect fit? Also, is that 94-97 or 98-01 Accord headers that will fit?

anything made for the 95-97 accord will work. However it will need to be modified by an exhaust shop to get to fit.

headers from a 98-02 accord will work, but will need to be bent slightly. Try OBX

OK, Thanks for the detailed enough info. Now that that is out of the way. With all these needed modifications to upgrade parts, does teh AEM CAI also need to be bent in anyw ay. I live in colorado, and it rains and snows here ALL THE TIME when it's not either june, july, or august. All the other months have snow and/or rain. I find pig puddles on the road, but how deep is too deep? I don't want my air intake to suck up water.

Personally, i don't worry about hyrdolock. But if you want to be carefull look at a short ram. Or atleast a CAI that can be converted to short ram.

And questions don't be afraid to ask. And no mods need to be done to the intake to get it to fit.

OK, so basically I'd only have to worry about hydrolock if I drove in water that would be deep enough to go up to my bumper, right? Alright, well I' think I'll just go with the AEM CAI then.

I've been having a weird problem withthe battery cover on my 3.0. It doesn't want to stay on. I'm probably gonna take the car to an Acura Dealership tommorow and have them take a look at it to make sure all is well. Damn this car is just the same as my old one, except that it is 10 years newer.

ok, well after looking around I think I am going to go with an Injen Air Intake with a Cold Air Extension . That way I can just swap out the cold air extension if it gets too rainy or something. The total comes to about $208 with free shipping. Anybody here know of any better deals? I'm really cautious about how I treat my car, so I'd stil prefer this with the extension, just in case.

the extension is a smart idea, you may also want to roam ebay for some used ones that are the old 2 piece style

Of course the extension is a good idea. That's why I needed confirmation from you guys about it. I think I'll stay away from secondhand parts. I haven't had the best experince with them.

I found that the battery cover isn't closing properly because the wrong battery is in there. I just need to go replace it with the proper battery and it will fit just fine.

wait a second. What kind of bending must be done to the exhaust headers to get them to fit? Will each of the heads connecting directly to the engine have to be bent, or does just then end that connects to the catalytic converter need to be bent. if it's all 6 of the engine side heads, then forget it, I'm not gonna risk that much over a 5 hp gain, if even that.

also will I ahv eto do any cutting for the CAI, or is the hole in which the pipe goes through already there under the stock airbox?

ok yeah. someone just bumped the topic with that install on it, so I got to see myself. I'm still wondering about the Air intake and extension. I'm not gonna be arsed to remove the air box, just so I can see if there is a hold there or not.

OK. I just read something about someone putting a front strut bar on their CL. I just got mine used. It's a 1999 3.0 CL and it already has a front strut bar on it. Is this normal?

we have a stock front strut bar already. not sure what the difference w/ the aftermarket ones are. maybe stronger but it won't make much difference IMO.

I didn't think so, but I thought I saw a picture of a 2.2CL without a strut bar. Just wondering. I wish I hadn't ordered that gigabyte of ram for my computer, it cost just as much as a CAI for my CL. Ah well I didn't think I was getting a car soon when i ordered. Just meansn I gotta save up more.
