98+ Accord V6 tranny? Will it fit?
Oh man, my tranny is starting to slip. today it was just slipping so bad i had to drive with the hazard light on. Then i dont know what happen it start driving fine again, but i think i might need to look for a new-used tranny and putting on myself with the help of my gfs dad. What i needa know is "would a 98+ Accord v6 tranny fit perfectly into the 3.0CL? i know their the same motor and all...but i'm just making sure before i buy one and it doesn't fit because its off a lil (i dont know)...so what do u guys think? exactly the same or not?

i was either thinking about getting a used one with low milage from at least a 2000 model. but if it aint gonna line up right or the mount is off i think imma just get it rebuilt. How much u think u will run me to rebuilt that tranny?
Oh after 145K miles on that stock tranny, its finally start slipping yesterday, but only for a few minutes after that its been running just like before. I'm still planning to get that fix tho.

I'm also thinking about upgrading the tranny too if imma get it rebuilt. I wanna do a 6speed covertion but thats just too much work and money and we dont even know if its reliable. So what can i do with this stock tranny? any way i can make it into a 5speed auto? or put in a stronger torque converter?

927$ is for the dealership tranny if u have a warranty on ur origional tranny. theres acually a nother price of like 2750$ or so in there too. and no the 98 accord tranny will not work. even a tranny from a 97 cl will not work cause it has two different sensors (main shaft and primairy speed sensors) on it that the 98-99 dont have (only a single speed sensor.) u have an m7za tranny. i know the 97 is also a m7za tranny but like i said earlier...... for the whole price w/o warranty. look under-------- gasket kit-engine assembly-transmission assembly. in the acura automotive parts list. hope this helps.

kewl i'm just making sure...cuz i was looking into the accord and 98,99 CL tranny. I'm taking my car to a transmission shop today after work to have it checked out and might get it completly rebuilt.
Also i was gonna look into a 6speed tranny conversion, either the 03 CL-S or the 03 Accord. Ya'll got any full detail on what all the mod involve in it?

theres alot envolved. rewiring to remove the governor (park and neutral) hard wiring in the 6 speed computer, pedals, shifter, parts, custom fabricated brackets. there alot of shit. altho i was thinkin of tackling the 3.2s and 6 speed swap. and just rewiring the whole engine compartment (i think this would be easier).

this is prolly a stupid question, but when our trannys shit the bed, is it possible to throw a 5 speed transmission on the 3.0. Its not a rare engine and im surprised noone has tried it. Probably for obvious reasons, lemi know whats up....

if you have a warranty you shouldn't be giving the dealer any money

no thats what the dealer would pay for it when they installed it into ur car. then they would get that money back from honda of america after they turned the old one back in for rebuild.
