Today, I was running errands for about 3-4 hours. When, at different stops, I would get back in and the car wouldn't start...like it wasn't getting gas. I had to give it gas and compress the brake pedal while putting it into reverse to keep the engine running. It is not the first time it's done this. Runs really rough sometimes when warm but only in park. ??? The sevice engine (red) came on today when that happened as well.

Also, what might I expect to pay for a new tranny? This car is on it's second tranny with 188,xxx on the car itself. It's clunking/pausing most of the time now. Any insights would be helpful.

 

Average tranny rebuild is about $2000-3000. I paid $2800 at aamco
