98 2.3 Cl
Well, a guy pulled out in front of me last week and I totaled my 99 Nissan Altima. So I found a 98 2.3 CL for around the same price and bit the bullet and bought it. The car is in wonderful shape and only has 85000 miles on it. I owned several Accords in the past and the car reminds me a lot of my 95 Accord EX.
The engine runs smooth and the everything seems to be great on the car. However, every once in a while the transmission will jump into gear when shifting from park to drive. After that, the cars shifts smoothly and there is no slippage whatsoever. I drove the car all day today, and it only did that twice. The tranny seems to operate too smoothly for any type of mechanical failure. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
I checked the motor mounts, and the engine does not seem to be idling too high. I also stopped it by a transmission specialist nearby and he said not to worry about it unless it starts getting really bad and more frequent.
Thank you

The auto trans that acura used from 97 to 03 is notorious for malfunctioning and failing. Be careful with it, you might want to get a tranny cooler to help increase its lifespan.
