97 3.0 won't start

97 3.0 won't start

It will if I press the accelerator 1/2 down otherwise just cranks.
Could an almost empty tank cause this?

Yep...the emptier the tank the more cranks to get it started.

You just get used to it.

Don't let you tank go below 1/4 and you won't have this happen.

Why does this happen? I have never had a car behave this way.

i think the fuel rails loose their prime with less gas. maybee takin off the fuel evap canister will help.

my does it when i'm like 1/8 away from the red. try a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.
