97 2.2CL: Brake-over-hub conversion.
97 2.2CL: Brake-over-hub conversion.
Alright guys, I've done some searching on the forum trying to find out what would the best best/cheapest way to do a disc over hub conversion for out 1997 cars. I could only get some information here and there, and the noob guide has NOTHING about the conversion, which is shameful!
So from what i understand, there is 2 ways of doing that conversion:
-Buy this kit from TAS Auto, which is a hub and bearing for 94-97 accords (97 cl's) to fit 2.3 cl rotors, i suppose (correct me if i'm wrong). With this part, you keep the same caliper bracket and caliper. http://www.tasauto.com/Product/Detai...192099&d=2&p=3
-Or getting the 2.3cl knuckles, from what i understand from this thread : https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...light=disc+hub The thing is, i am not even sure if i can just buy the 2.3cl hub+bearing instead of the knuckle, and will it fit!
I guess that the caliper and bracket are staying the same because the actual disc braking surface does not move if you do the conversion. Am i correct? Because 2.2 disc are flat, and 2.3 discs have the usual hub extrusion for the rim face.
If anyone can confirm this, i would appreciate. Because its really getting confusing. And when its all figured out, the noob guide should be updated.

Hmmm. I am looking at this 98 2.3cl:
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal
and this 97 2.2cl :
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal
And it seems that the if i buy the 2.3 cl hub unit ONLY (or get it from the scrap) i will be able to use the 2.2cl's bearing with it and 2.3 cl rotor. And the knuckles have the exact same part number.
