97 2.2 CL electrical problems

Ok guys, this is my first post and what not, so hello!

Here's the problem:
My passenger side window regulator went out (as did the driver's side the month before)...dunno if this has anything to do with the problem, but as this was the start of the problems, figured I'd include it.

Then, my alarm started acting funky, like the door wasn't shut...so it goes off randomly, in the middle of the night and what not, and it won't lock with the remote like 90% of the time.

Second, my seatbelt alarm goes off while I'm driving, very annoying. Again, seems related to the door not being shut. It SHOULD only go off right after I close the door.

My guage panel does not show that the doors are open either.

Then, the other day my battery went dead from leaving the lights on (because it doesn't give an alarm anymore when I turn off the key/open the door).

This spawned a new set of problems: my rear defroster wont work, dome/map lights don't work, and my intermittent wipers don't work.

Since all of these latter things happened simultaneously, I wonder if there's a relay or something that died on me.

Any help would be appreciated, since this is a 97 and I have no warrantee, nor the money to take it to a dealer.

Thanks,
-Kendall, Amarillo TX

Have you checked your fuses?

97 2.2 CL Electrical Problems

I am glad that I'm not the only one with electrical problems. I too had to replace the regulators for both passenger and driver's side.
My main problems is that there is a "short" somewhere in the car so that it blows a fuse. Either the fuse for the security blows, so that the electric door locks and ignition does not work OR the fuse for the dash and rear lights blows and night driving is dangerous.
I have brought my car to two dealers already and spent well over $400 for them to NOT fix the problem and tell me that they can't find it.
I am sure that there are two wires crossed somewhere in the car, but they don't know where.
I have replaced many 15 amp fuses!
I may give the Acura dealer here in Boston one more chance, and if they can't fix it, I will buy a new car. I have 106,000 miles on the car, but everything else is GREAT and I love the car.
Oh well...

I agree with Slooo. I had to have my alternator replaced once under warranty. It sounds like it could be that. If the car isn't under warranty, take it to Sears or something like that and have them check the whole system out. They will tell you what it is.

Also the window regulators are common for CL's
