97 2.2 CL buying...?!
97 2.2 CL buying...?!
heyall I have been car searching this whole summer and i think i found the car but i dont know, here is some information about the car
1997 Acura 2.2 CL, auto, green, 87K miles, leather, sunroof, woodgrain, basically stock,
the guy priced the car at $7500 but after talking he is willing to sell the car to me for $6000 but i dont really know because as i was driving i open the glove box and i found a "salvage title" i asked him and he said during a storm or whatnot a tree fell on the car and thats why it got that title, and also that he needed to replace the hood, windshield, and the sunroof due to that tree, anyhow the car looks really nice only except the moldings on the windshield still needs to be added, he says acura dealership took care of it and all, he says he bought it for his wife to drive at a car auction, i've been trying to research about this car as much as possilbe, kbb.com, edumunds.com, and trying to find out the prices, and im wondering am i getting ripped off for paying 6 thousand on this acura or is it a good deal?
other than that the car is in great condition, runs good, looks good, nice, i'd buy it but just wanted some opinions
my first car so i dont want my parents to make a mistake *you know how it is.

i think 6gs is to much for something that needs to be worked on. you can probably get something thats all set without a salvage title. but than again it does only have 87k shop around.
if u like the green, that price is good. every dealer i went to before i bought my car, the green was always like 3 grand less then the black or the white ones. This guy offered a green one in mint condition for 5 g's, not the dark green though, that light green which i didn't like. so i took the black and paid 10. whatcha gonna do... good luck and dont settle for the first one u find, im sure there are plenty more.
I wouldn't do it. I tell you I've had my fare share of salvaged cars, and the day you want to re-sell it, it's gonna be hard. Basically no one wants salvaged cars. I'd keep looking. btw.. do you like green?
salvage cars are best to buy if you plan on keeping it till they are 10 years old cause after that you dont even have to show the title to sell it. my car personally is reconstructed i got a hell of a deal on it and nothing but the usual wear and tear has gone wrong with it.
yeah i do like the car and the color, im not planning to sell the car if i buy it, because its my first car and im planning to drive it thru last year of HS and then take it through college go here and there, work and the usual thing, just until it dies
and becomes junkyard material.
