Hey everyone, this local kid contacted me the other day about buying his 3.0 CL that his grandmother gave him. $600 dollars. 185,000 miles. Here is the kicker, idk what to do with it. From what ive read is that the j30a1 is a turd of a motor to swap into a civic, and the body of a CL is too heavy for making a racecar. The only things that leaves me with is spare body and interior parts. The kid is going to jail on drug charges soon and idk if i should buy, i feel very 50/50 on it.

 

$600 for a spare car is a steal. You can either have a spare car to use as a beater, or part it out and make some dough, either way should be a win win

Its very hard to make your money on parting a car out mainly because all of your time involved in taking parts off. You can not sell parts for very much because they are used, rusted, dented and do not age well. Your better off keeping it to fix up and/or sell it for a profit rather than parting it out. I know from many years of experience doing both.
