Ok fellas. My tranny is gonna go soon and I got about 140k miles so it had a good life. I need some advise about whether I should get it rebuilt at Aamco or I can get a 'low' mileage tranny at the same price ($1800). Which should I do? I really like to hear from the people who have actually changed or rebuilt their transmissions. Thanks in advance.

I would get the low mialage trany. Rebuilt transmissions are never the same. I know alot of people who have had bad luck with the rebuilt one. Good luck

Agreed. After a rebuild the tranny will never be the same. It may last but it will never shift like a tranny that hasn't been built.

Ya i got my tranny rebuilt...Free with aftermarket warranty thank god! Its feels very different, just does some funky stuff. I dunnno if its a good idea to buy a used one because what if that one goes bad?

You try to get a small warranty on it. Rebuilt trannys go out too!

Yeah, go with who has the best combination of price and warranty. Then make your purchase.
